Dr Lincoln Tan

Dr Lincoln Tan is a Consultant Urologist and accredited Robotic Surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, with special interest in the treatment of urinary stones, having treated many patients with stones over the years.

Experience

  • Postgraduate surgical degrees from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2006 and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG) in 2011.
  • Masters in Surgery from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2007.
  • Completed Advanced Specialty Training at National University Hospital (NUH).
  • College of Surgeons Gold Medal from the Academy of Medicine Singapore.
  • Completed his fellowship in Urologic Oncology and Laparoscopic and Tele-Robotic Urologic Surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2013.

Under the mentorship of one of the earliest local urologists to adopt extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), Dr Tan specialises in this non-invasive procedure to remove stones from the kidney and urinary tract. He is also skilled in minimally invasive approaches and managing complications that can occur with urinary stones.

Dr Tan is committed to achieving stone-free rates and providing compassionate patient care. He emphasises listening to his patients' concerns and addressing their questions. By taking the time to connect with his patients and understand their needs, he is able to deliver optimal outcomes for them.

  • Director of Postgraduate Education and Core Faculty for the NUHS Urology Residency Programme.
  • Examiner for both undergraduates and postgraduates at NUS.
  • Member of the JCST Examination Committee for Urology, which develops and implements the exit examination for local urology specialists.
  • Faculty of the Asian Urological Surgery Training and Education Group (AUSTEG).
  • Delivered lectures on prostate cancer care across the region, including Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Philippines, and Nepal.
